Commander Miller serves as Lamar Police Department's Commander of Support Services Commander of Support Services, which includes investigations, professional standards (IA’s), admin/clerical staff, and records. Miller is a 19-year law enforcement veteran, serving eleven years as a Sergeant, with seven of those years as the Detective Sergeant. Commander Miller has experience in tactical operations, Swat, firearms instructor, Glock and AR armorer, and as a Field Training Officer. He has experience in homicide investigations, sexual assault investigations, financial crimes and is CIT certified. Commander Miller’s supervision training includes the FBI-LEEDA supervisor training courses. Miller is a US Army veteran, serving four ½ years, and served a year combat tour in Iraq in the 2/3 infantry battalion of 3rd brigade, 2nd ID.
